My experiment of a variant of Russian Stitch 2+1+1:
First do the RS 2+1+1 as usual, then pick up a 4th loop behind the thumb "in the Russian way" (ie from back to front, needletip pointing to 9 o'clock) a loop that has already once been picked up in the Russian way. In this manner the last loop gets twisted twice.
